Ringing in Espoo 16.9.2012

Finally some action here! There has been now almost two weeks with out birding... I have moved back to Helsinki, worked like a maniac and when i had time, then rain starts or something like that..
Roni asked me join him to do some ringing in Laajalahti and of course i wanted to join.
Roni started at 5.45am and i came little bit later because i was working and my shift ended at 6.00am.
When i arrived, Roni had almost every net on and i walked straight to the ringing place where Roni´s girlfriend Annika was.
First round was maybe the busiest and we got nice numbers of Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers, Robins, and Blue Tits.
Roni let me train my ringing and he checked birds afterwards.
We had nets open about 4 hours and total catch was about 60birds.
Most of the birds were Sedge Warblers and Blue Tits but there was also 6 Reed Buntings, one Chaffinch, 3 Willow Warblers, 5 Chiffchaffs and so on.

Reed Bunting, 1cy.

Chaffinch female.

Adult male Reed Bunting and 1cy hanging together.

Chiffchaff.

God it was nice to join this ringing. Too long breaks between my training sessions and i really want to learn this.
Thanks Roni and Annika for company, this was nice.
Hope the next post will be sooner than this one.

best.
